My husband trying his best to get me back?

My husband was a total jerk most of our marriage, in the beginning he would yell in my face, verbally abuse me, physically shove me around, threaten to throw me out, then be all nice again....head games...i left him once a yr ago. I got my own place and we went through counseling...my brother died, he comforted me, I ended up moving back in. He hasn't done anything physical since has been doing good to control his temper and does respect me more...however, after the shock of my brother ping was gone...i realized I was SCARED...all I could think about was him flipping out again...slowly he started being distant again and iam sure I was too. Started his controlling manipulative behaviour once again. I got my own apartment again, told him I was leaving this time, instead of leaving while he was at work lke last time...he locked me out of my house and refused to let me see my daughter (she is 19mo) he said for a whole week....he was decided on custody time. I got her back after a few nasty arguments, so we are doing 4 days on and off. Now he is being super nice, and saying that he is going to counseling, and taking anti depressants which he was totally against me taking them before....inviting me to go....i just dont know what to do....
