With the advent of 3G mobile phones with Internet access(Wikipedia), have pub quizzes had their day?

In my local pub and the local social club if you are entering the monthly quiz you have to turn your mobile off and leave it at the bar Elric. Most people are pretty honest but you obviously get the odd ones who don't. Oh and I also better add that if you have a genuine reason for having your mobile switched on and with you ie Young kids at home with a babysitter etc you are allowed to but you leave it on top of the table in full view of everyone !!
