Does World of Warcraft run on Windows 2000?

I'm considering getting the game, but my operating system is old. I've played it before on this computer, and it ran on 2000. This was awhile ago (about a year or so). I checked the website for sys req., but now it says I have to get Windows XP or Vista. So does it still work on 2000?
