My upstairs neighbour is a noisy tit. Should i go upstairs and pan his face in?

Do i chap up on the ceiling with the hoover attachments again or just slam my doors a few times? I like my peace & quiet but he just clatters about all night. He's got that laminate flooring up there too, and it amplifies his foot steps. I'm sick of it. Thump thump thump all night long. He's quite a big stocky built guy and i don't really want to confront him incase he thumps me.
