Did I do it the right way- trying to concieve.?

My husband and I are ttc. I did a ovulation calculator online and it said I should have o around the 26th of Oct. I bought a clearblue ovulation kit and on the 21st it was neg. On the 22nd the lines matched in color and on the 23rd it was really dark. We BD on the 11the through the 20th. Too tired to on the 21st and we again BD on the 22nd through the 24th. I then developed a UTI so we haven't been able to since. Do my chances look okay even missing the 21st and not BD after the 24th? Can I trust the ovulation kits?
